My job is being eliminated at work. They're creating a new position doing the same thing I'm doing, but it requires a bachelors degree. Since I'm not likely to be able to get three math classes that are all prerequisites of one another done in the next week plus a humanities class--I'm not even half way there for a Bachelors. Yay! That sucks. You didn't need a bachelor's degree to do this job before, so why would you need it now? Thanks a pantsload, BLC.

You might want to apply for the job just in case since you are working toward the degree and have been for some time. You'd have to read between the lines of what you were told in order to know if it would be worth it.

Which, given I wasn't laid off like my northern CA counterpart, is a very valid point. It's also one that I have to keep in mind and close to heart. Still, I'm not planning on putting all my eggs in one basket so... yeah.

My resume doesn't look horrid...though I'm trying to find something to make my current employment look better on the page. It's not that it looks horrid now, it just...takes up a lot of space.
