Hay mare, I was thinking of something similar kanina nung papasok ako. I work in Manila, near Recto and everyday I encounter beggars and street children... who exist side by side with students and rich people who go to St. Jude on Thursdays.

I am charmed by Manila. Dati, I didn't like it, kahit na I grew up in the city. I preferred the province. Kaso nung nagsimula akong mag libot ng Binondo, Recto, Divi at Quiapo, na-appreciate ko siya, lalo na ng nilobot ako ng Lolo at Lola ko dito. Yes, it's dirty, rather chaotic and sometimes dangerous, but you gotta admit may appeal siya. Though, I do wish we could do something about the vagrants, as CC said.

Hay, tama yung isang nag comment sa blog ni Carlos. The lady should just stay home if she expects all the places she'll visit to be up to her standards. Or at least do an in depth research.

Appeal is relative, I guess. sisigmonster June 4 2008, 02:53:29 UTC
And evidently, the Spanish couple did not like what they saw. Hopefully, they're enjoying themselves in our beaches.

True, Manila is charming. Diba't Pinoys who migrated miss the jungle of a highway we have? I guess it takes a long time for people, particularly foreigners, to appreciate it.
