So, my husband took today off, so we could have a nice long family weekend, maybe go somewhere, like Crater Lake or the mountains. Have a good time, before school starts again for our daughter and me.
He goes outside and plays with the neighbor's nice dog, a very exuberant pit bull mix, and they do their usual macho "man and dog" rough games. Only this time the dog gets his hand by accident, instead of the toy!
We just got back from several hours at the doctor's office (why does it always *take* so darn long to see anyone?) and he's the proud recipient of several stitches, a tetanus shot, antibiotics and vicodin for the pain, and are trying to figure out how to not turn the dog in.
Apparently the doctor has to inform animal control, and they then call you back to get all the information, which certainly makes sense in many cases, but this is not a vicious dog and it was an innocent accident.
I was brave and watched the surgery! It looked really nasty to start with, but the doc did a nice job, and I learned all sorts of things about stitches, and why they do lose ones, and a lot less of them, if it's a bite, and not a nice clean cut.
Now the husband is safely asleep, and we are just going to stay around home for the rest of the weekend.
H/C in fanfic is a favorite for me, but in RL definitely not!
When he first came in, bleeding all over the place and practically fainting, it was quite the shock.
