I think you've just convinced me that if we manage to spawn we're having eco as possible disposables!

haha! Sorry about that? All the newborn sized ones are the amount needed for a week (which is how often the former nappy company collected them..), or so I'm told by the ones who used them...

What are you still really needing or wanting?

not nappies that's for sure :-D

Needs are picture books, clothes for slightly bigger babies (size 3-6months and 6-9 months), and baby toilitries (eg nail clippers that keep you from cutting fingers off on accident). Wants are assembly-required baby clothes (aka yarn. I'm delusional enough to think I might have time to knit while on maternity leave), older kids classics (eg Louisa Mae Alcott, Little House on the Prarie series, Lloyd Alexander, the Oz series...), and a glider rocking chair.

I don't know about silk liners, but I like the fleece liners I'm using.
The booster pad is for when the little one gets bigger so it can hold a bit more wee between changes. I've not used most of the nappies/wraps you have so I don't have much to say about them. If you find that you don't like the wraps you have, I would recommend the Onelife ones. I know others who have also switched to them because they really do keep everything inside.
I think you should wait to try out what you have before buying anything larger as it is hard to say what you will like using until you try them out.

ok, thanks, will keep onelife in mind and not go shopping for nappies :-)

Re-reading the list, when these go to Freecycle, I'll probably split the collection up a bit, as it's probably more like enough for several babies... we really lucked out in getting a larger-baby lot off freecycle at the same time as a tiny-baby set of stuff from our freind...

As far as the nippas go, we started out with 4 and only have completely lost 1 in the 5.5 months of use. 1 goes in the diaper bag, the other 2 are rotated. I have a service, so I do not use liners. We use the proraps, and have 4 in each size, 1 for the bag and 3 rotated. This seemed to be enough except for when she got a stomach bug. The proraps do have some give that will fill out as baby grows. She was small so she used the newborn sized nappies for the first 3 months. Some of the nappies that we get from the service are rather pilled, but they do not seem to bother her. She only has had nappy rash when she had the stomach bug and when she was left in a wet nappy to long. By the description of the prefold I think that is what we use. My service's website www.tinytots.com has videos of how to diaper with the nippas for both genders. Hope this helps.

thanks for the video, and the advice! Soo many people at work think I'm a bit nuts for wanting to do reusable nappies... do the ones you use have a bit of an extra thickness down the middle? Anyway, they seem similar enough that I could probably follow the appropriate video for our little one, so thanks again!

Yes they do seem thicker in the middle.
