telling my boss that i am leaving is a little scary. in fact, i've been putting it off all day.

leaving phoenix isn't going to be as easy as i thought.

dude. i'm moving to portland where i got a job i'm really excited about. it's definitely what i need to do, but now i'm getting all sad and nostalgic.

that definitely sounds familiar...having a great opportunity but getting sads about leaving. I hate to say "been there, done that", but I think you and I both know that you deserve a first class ticket out of there. I say that as someone who respects your work and what you do...I hope that job is everything you wanted and more!

you may remember me being a sloppy, emotional mess when I left...the nostalgia is unavoidable and part of the process. I definitely miss a lot of people and certain familiarities about arizona, but the people that truly care understand why you leave and will be happy for you. I know you know that you're making the right decision.

i went with an email, but we are talking later today. i didn't want to be all passive aggressive, but i also didn't want to walk into her office an bombard her with the news.

it was really more of a thank you letter. my boss is amazing and awesome and i have the utmost respect for her.. so i told her that and thanked her for helping me grow in a lot of ways. then i just explained that it was time to move on. she is great so she understood.

not everyone is this close to their boss, so i'm not sure this would work for most resignations...

on the plus side, after my next/last story comes out, i'm going to have a lot more free time to chill. and me and you need a non-boyfriend hang out so we can just get crazay together.

i have the urge to totally debauch myself until i move. (i'm still a little gross sometimes.)
