Pretty girl commercial break

Oct 21, 2008 22:53

I was asked quite some time ago to shoot the super curvy, hot duo of Xanthia Doll & Jessica Muffin and jumped at the chance. When I made the commitment I didn't know I was going to be in the middle of this insane move. I almost backed out last minute, but couldn't bring myself to be that flakey and I'm REALLY glad I didn't!

I had a lot of fun ( Read more... )

Not bad. I really like shots 2 and 3 for composition. The lighting seems kind of flat to me and on #1 you have a hard shadow on the background that doesn't look good to me.

My suggestion for improvement is simply shoot more pictures all the time. When I first got my NIkon, my first photo shoots with it were really frustrating for me. So I started carrying it around and started shooting just 'stuff' and 'people'. Until I got more familiar with how it work and what kind of shots I can get with it. That helped a lot when I got back to the studio.

My second suggestion is keep an eye out for model mixers or workshops where you can use various lighting sets-up on the cheap. There was one model mixer in San Jose I use to go to that had a variety of lighting set-ups happening. That helped me learn how different lighting gave me different effects.

Sorry it's taken me a while to get back to you, I don't have regular internet access anymore.

Thanks for the feedback. The 1st shot was a snapshot I took in between sets and it shows. I just didn't have any other good shots of the outfit without her boobs out! :)

I like the idea of going to a mixer and learning different setups. I'll keep my eye out for one.

I've done a shoot on my own since this one and did WAYYYY better, but haven't been able to work on the shots because I don't have photoshop on the laptop I'm using on the boat. Grrr Hopefully soon so I can show those off!

Hope you are doing good!

For what it maybe worth, I cannot think of anything to critisize about these.

The only thing I would suggest is take as many pics as you can of a mix of topics, not just model shots, in different lights, natural and created light sources etc.

The other thing is shoot what makes you happy. I know this is cliched, but I find with my drawing or writting, if i have to force myself to work on something, it just does not ever feel right when it is finished.

I know on your friends list, but I enjoy reading your journal and just wanted to reply.
wandering off now.

(oh and I do like these pics a lot)

Thanks! I've been trying to carry a camera with me all the time for impromptu practicing, but haven't had much of an opportunity lately.

I had a shoot by myself since this and did much better, can't wait to get those shots up! :)
