Everyone needs a kind word every now and then. Even from a stranger. :D

and sometimes you have to be persistant in not letting them 'hide' from everyone...had to do it this week and found my friend again:) I'm really glad I did it as I had missed talking with them...a kind word and just letting them know you are there for them is sometimes all it takes...we all need to live by 'what goes around comes around' next time it might just be us doing the drowning in life.

Aw, see I do that and get ignored. LOL But I'm SO glad that you got a response and that he was appreciative!! It's so nice to get that kind of response! And I'm sure he was thankful to know you were thinking of him!!!

You're such a sweetheart!!

Aw, I didn't take it that way at all! LOL

I'll admit, I was kinda checking my email all day to see if he'd acknowledge it; and I think it was also because I needed SOME reassurance that it wasn't taken as creepy/stalkerish. I kept mentally slapping myself, though, and telling myself that I shouldn't EXPECT an answer from him. (He's not really a "celebrity", but he's got a lot of friends and listeners to his podcast all over the country, so I'm just one more voice among the mass, you know?)

All in all, he mentioned during that day's podcast very briefly that he'd gotten a few messages/emails/comments and that he couldn't really go in depth about it without getting emotional. I think he said about 40-ish people responded with encouragement for him. I'm just glad he's doing somewhat better now, even if he IS still pissed at his situation. LOL Seems to be less depressed, though.

That's a good reminder. I have a hard enough time reaching out to my close friends, it's nearly impossible with people I don't know well (I always feel like I'm crossing boundaries and I'm afraid if I reach out to someone I'll get accused of prying or something like that. I don't want to make anyone feel like I'm trying to invade their privacy).

This might kick my ass back into gear, though. :)

In my mind, if they're putting themselves out there and expressing what's going on in a public way, they're pretty much inviting comments of all kinds from friends and strangers alike. :)
