Honda civics are godly. They last for freaking ever. If my sister hadn't totaled my mom's '98 civic 4 years ago, I'd be driving it today. Realistically, whichever of those models you get is likely to last. Think about the features that are really important to you and try not to be taken in by some good marketing, either way.
I loved my Civic. Truly loved it. Thing was a BEAST. My brother drives a Mitsubishi, and his car had so many more problems than my Civic did. And it did soooo well in my accident.
I'd probably get one used, they're running about $12-14k around here, and the car is only a few years old, plus it's a Honda, so a used would still last me a while.
get a nissan versa. they're like $16 grand i think, and a very awesome car. anyways, do what you are comfortable with. if you won't mind paying and extra $100 a month for the next few years for a car that you will absolutely L-O-V-E, then do it! if you'd rather stay on the cheap side, get one you like & just dream away like the rest of us poor suckers. <3
In the vein of the above comment, I suggest an American car (although not the most economical idea). While American cars don't last as long as some foreign models, it is your duty as a Democrat to give back to the economy... not to mention, my dad might shit himself if Chrysler goes under.
Personally (if I wouldn't feel guilty about it later), I'd blow all my money on a Mazda. :) mmmmmmmm, Mazda.
