History: Going to give you the whole thing in my own words, as the wikis don’t often fill in certain blanks. Other sources do include the Resident Evil Archives books I and II.

Claire and her brother Chris were orphaned when Claire was still a young teenager. Their father died in a construction accident, and their mother later died in a car crash. Both she and her brother were in foster care for a year until Chris turned 18 and enlisted in the Air Force. He then took guardianship of his little sister and they lived on base together. Eventually, Chris left the Air Force and was recruited by Barry Burton to the Raccoon City Police Department in their S.T.A.R.S division. Claire in turn finished high school and went to college. She studied as an English Lit major.

Then things took a downhill turn. There were a string of cannibalistic murders in the Arklay Mountains that surrounded Raccoon. Her brother was eventually sent on a search and rescue mission and she didn’t hear from him for a long time after he was deployed. Concerned, Claire left school and road into Raccoon City, on her favorite motorcycle, only to discover the town had become a post zombie-apocalyptic wasteland.

Joining up with a rookie police officer, Leon S. Kennedy, she made her way to the Raccoon City police station, but to no avail. There was no trace of her brother or any other member of S.T.A.R.S. The entire station was over run with zombies and other monsters. However, she did come across a young girl, Sherry Birkin, and the two monsters, the tyrant called Mr. X and her own mutated father William Burkin, that was chasing her. After a long night of near death experiences, which Claire survived due to the training her brother had given her years ago, the three escaped the dead city.

Leaving Sherry with Leon, Claire left for Europe to try and track down her still missing brother. She infiltrated a Paris Umbrella base, only to be discovered in the act of hacking into their computer system. After a extended chase through the facilities, during which she out ran a helicopter, she was finally caught after running out of ammo in her gun.

They held her for about a week but she never gave them anything. The facilities overseers decided to ship her off to Rockfort Island, a secret prison camp and research facility in the Atlantic. Only a few hours after her arrival, however, the island was attacked in an air strike. The facility was decimated and a strain of the t-virus, one that could re-animate already dead bodies, was released across the island. The man who originally captured Claire, Roderigo Juan Rival, who was mortally injured, released her from her prison cell. Claire eventually returned to bring him hemostatic medicine, and left him her lucky lighter, which was a gift from her brother, so he wouldn’t feel lonely.

During her attempt to escape the island, she ran into another prisoner, Steve Burnside. They sporadically acted as a team to get off the island, though he often abandoned her to pursue his own interests. During one of these times, Claire ran into Alfred Ashford, the commander of the base. He had obviously gone mad and accused Claire of leading the team that attacked the island to the base. He became deadly focused on killing her, though each time she out maneuvered him.

Claire ran into another, more deadly enemy while on her own: Albert Wesker. He explained to her that he attacked the base and was pleased to see her there, because she would lure in her brother Chris, whom Wesker held a deep grudge against. When Claire attempted to deflect his thinking, he responded by throwing her around like a rag doll, nearly crushing her collar bone and kicking her in the jaw. But instead of killing her, he was called away by a member of his team at the last moment and allowed her to live.

Eventually, Steve and Claire found a plane and managed to escape the island, only to discover a tyrant had followed them aboard the aircraft. Thinking quickly, Claire distracted the monster and then launched it out of the cargo hold. Before the two could think they were home free however, Alfred engaged the autopilot and redirect the plane. Having no way to turn the plane or control it, the two settled down to rest while they could. When they woke up, the plane was heading for a crash landing on a snow covered landscape. They discovered they were in Antarctica. With no supplies, they worked fast to find a way out. Along the way they were once again confronted by Alfred, whom they killed in a scuffle as he was thrown over a railing. As they were preparing to escape the base, another tyrant experiment, Nosferatu, ambushed the pair on an outdoor platform. Steve was knocked over the side, leaving Claire to fight alone again. After dispatching the monster, Claire saved Steve before he lost his grip on the pipe he had clung to, and they climbed into a snow cat, intending to get to the nearby Australian base to call for help. They never made it.

Instead, the dying Alfred managed to release his sister, Alexia, from her cryogenic stasis. Fully fused with the T-Veronica virus she was able to stop the snow cat and bring back her prisoners. Claire she bound up with spider’s silk, while Alexia used Steve for a new experiment.

Claire was saved by her brother, who had received her message from Leon, and followed her from what was left of Rockfort to Antarctica. After splitting up, Claire came across Steve, imprisoned to a wall by a large axe and attempted to free him. Steve then began to transform into a monster and attempted to kill her. But at the last moment, he fought back against the virus and refused to kill Claire. For disobeying, Alexia, by proxy, killed him. Chris eventually found Claire again and they encountered Alexia, now transformed. Instead of letting Claire stay and help him fight, Chris sent her ahead to secure a way off of the base.

During that time, Claire ran into Wesker again, who took her captive as bait for Chris.

Personality: Claire is a kind soul. She can feel mercy for even the worst of people. It could be considered both her greatest strength, and her greatest weakness. If someone asks for her help, she will likely give it, no matter who it is, so long as the situation doesn’t compromise her morals.

She’s the kind of woman who’d give you the shirt off her back, and she has done exactly that before. She truly loves children and can connect with them easily, likely because she lost her parents at a young age, and values family strongly. She doesn’t treat them like they’re idiots, but rather just small innocent adults.

From that kindness though springs a great, fierce protective streak. She has a high regard for all life, and so those who don’t share that regard earn her ire pretty quickly. She’s not afraid to smart off at enemies, though it might not always be the wisest idea. She stands by her ideals even in the worst circumstances, and backs them up with a fiery passion when necessary.

She’s loyal, almost to a fault. When it comes to people she cares about, Claire will go to the ends of the earth to help them. No favor is too big, even if it puts her in danger. This shows in her a boldness, but also a recklessness. She has a habit of putting the survival of others before her own. In particular, her brother is her biggest weakness here. He is her only family, and she would lay down her life to protect him, above all others.

Claire also is very cool under pressure, especially in life or death situations. Her first encounter with a zombie showed remarkable self-control in an impossible situation. Though afraid, she had the wherewithal to process and not simply crumble. Her usual response when threatened is to verbally and/or physically spit in the eye of whatever she is up against.

Eventually, she gets it to where it begins recording a sound feed. She‘d figure out the rest later.]

Okay, so this might sound weird. Or it might not, but here goes.

Does anybody have a spare gun I could have? Or is there a place I could get one? See, I feel like I’ve gone from frying pan to fryer, and I’d feel a lot better if I had some kind of weapon. Mine, uh, well, I don’t have my own anymore.

“Move.”

He shoved her hard, wrenching the shoulder he’d tried to crush only hours ago, painfully. She stumbled, reaching out her hands to catch herself. But he must have pushed her harder than she realized and her face hit the floor.

Why her face? Wasn’t she banged up enough from the last time? Groaning she pushed herself up, and gasped at what she saw. She was alone, in a huge ball room. It was almost like a clean, upscale version of the carousel room back at the Ashford Mansion. But how did she get here? Had Wesker knocked her unconscious on accident and then taken her somewhere?

She caught a glimpse of herself in the mirrored wall across from her. Her jaw was still turning purple, so she couldn’t have been out for very long. So where was she? She couldn’t still be on Antarctica. The Australian base wouldn’t have a place like this in it. Or, at least she sincerely doubted that it did. And she couldn’t be at the lab. The self destruct sequence wasn’t going off, and she wasn’t blown up.

Or….

No. She couldn’t think like that. Besides, if she’d died, she probably wouldn’t look bruised and battered, and her shoulder probably wouldn’t feel like someone had tried to tear it off. Well, she wasn’t going to figure this out by standing there wondering. She turned until she spotted the door, and noticed something strange. An envelope with her name written on it was taped to the door.

“Yeah, that’s not super suspicious or anything.” She took the envelope down, and looked inside. The crude map showed that she clearly wasn’t in either the Mansion or the destroyed lab. “Okay, key, lets see what door you open. It’ll be just my luck there’s a licker behind it.”

Taking a steadying breath, she opened the door into a hallway.
