I'm going to do it! I will I will

I've been doing research, and research, and watching videos, and doll comparisons... Okay, I've done small amounts of each, but I'm going to make myself a doll. Mainly because I can't afford to buy one, and because it sounds fun.

There's a lot of tweaking and details still needed in my visual plans, but I'm posting my learning curve here.

I was getting the idea out of my head and just figuring out an idea of what I want the face to look like.

Then I did a little more research and tried figuring out the joints a little better.

I realized that a two/three part torso was probably a bit ambitious for my first attempt, so I drew up a better plan, and this time really applied myself to it.

There are still a lot of things that bother me. I've never tried to make a two dimensional plan followed by a three dimensional face, so ugh! I have no idea. I'm still learning the joints, so there's no master amazing plan there, and the arms and feet aren't drawn yet. SHE WON'T HAVE THOSE FIN THINGS on her arms. I'm just figuring out how far out I want her shoulders to go. And I don't know what I was thinking when I drew those elbow joints all long. That's not the plan, I promise.

I'll be using sculpey, since it's not too expensive, and I am just learning. As for eyes and hair... I have no idea yet. Wish me luck!
