Because it's been a while, and my stress levels are currently off the charts, and on the philosophy why the hell not:

Following are twenty-five first lines from songs as they came up on my MP3 player, with the exception of three whose first lines would have given away the titles. Have fun identifying them:

I am interested in #7. Our choir director begs for music, really, he's just out there on the street with a cardboard sign that says "WILL DIRECT FOR SONGS" It's kinda comical.

Srsly, anything spiritual to recommend? Rock/pop/bluesy/anything. Really.
(Oh and this is an interfaith spiritual center, so like UU in philosophy)
Thanks

Not a lot of spiritual music. Don't know about #7; I'll PM you details in case someone else guesses it (fairly unlikely, IMO).

Also, you might tell him to check the music from O Brother Whereart Thou, because I seem to recall there are a few spirituals on there. Plus, most of the music is cool.

Got them all. It's The Drifters. Why would I have anything else? :)

6. The Beatles "When I'm 64"
8. The Doors (or Echo and the Bunnymen) "People Are Strange"
10. The Beatles "Get Back"
13. "UP On the Roof" (Otis Redding, I think?)

Got all the titles, but it's the Limeliters doing City of Nawlins.

10. Get Back - Beatles
19. Cover of the Rolling Stone - Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show (which I did not realize was written by Shel Silverstein until just now--when I had to google the artist because I couldn't remember the "Dr. Hook" part of the group's name--which just makes the damn thing so much cooler)

And 13-16, and 24 I swear I should know...

Got those two (though you were beaten to Get Back). :) And I completely agree about Cover of the Rolling Stone. It is a song that amuses me so very much, and then you add in that little factoid and there's just all kinds of happiness there.

And you probably should.

16 is Always something There to Remind Me... um Naked Eyes(?) I think
21 is Love Voodoo by you know who ;)

That's all I have right now. A few others seem familiar, but I can't place them.

AH... I just sat here going through every single one. I couldn't figure any out, so I started googling. I won't say what it is here because I cheated, but it was driving me insane so I had to! That album... honestly I listened a few times to review it and then not really again. Yeah, I know. Bad cool_chick. :) It's in my iTunes though so I do hear some stuff off it from time to time :)
