i think ovens self clean by getting really really really hot and burning the crap out of themselves.

i do not miss that florida weather.

That's what I thought! I think that when I was a youngin' I assumed it worked somewhat as a dishwasher...and now that I'm older and I re-visit my doctrine of oven workings I realize that would be a TERRIBLE idea.

Could you use the self-clean function as a way to quickly cook/burn foods then? That's what I need to know.

no, because the oven locks itself during self cleaning time. i would never advise what you have suggested!

Hah...I'm completely oven ignorant. I'm frightened by its intense heating powers.
