Rants: monologues in which the hero won't stab you in the middle

Yes, I'm bad at updating; no, you don't get a promise that I'll update more because every time I do that I completely forget. :-P Anyway, this is the requested ranty post about my #*&^ public policy class with happy things put in to calm me down and remind me that really, it's just one class. Feel free to skip either section (or the post) as the ( Read more... )

Comment 1: I'm not the only person with a Harry Dresden costume? Totally awesome. Ian's is probably a lot better than mine; mine was made for Halloween and thus was completely lacking in a staff and things didn't match up amazingly well, even apart from the obvious fact that I'm short. [see userpic for small version of it.]

Comment 2: If you still have the ITRC backup information in a folder (eg: it wasn't just copied back into the same place, I'm not always sure how they handle the backups) firefox bookmarks are in a hidden folder deep inside your user folder, which you can probably still recover. I can try to help you locate them.

Comment 3: I should go to a ren faire someday...

1: Yes, last year he went to Franklin Street as Harry Dresden. LJ is being obnoxious and not letting me insert the picture in this comment, so I'll edit the entry to put it at the end. He was nitpicking about the type of coat and only one drunk person recognized him, but it was fun. I went as Susan, but the costume sort of went downhill when I couldn't find leather pants.

2: It's all still clumped in the ITRC folder, yes, so I would be really happy if you could point me in the right direction.

3: You really should. I believe there's one in Raleigh in March or April. If the usual suspects end up going and you want to come along I can try to get you a seat in the caravan.

I don't know that mine is necessarily better- she posted a picture, so you can guess see. I didn't have a staff at all, because I was going to Franklin Street, where they take away anything vaguely resembling a weapon...

Yay, updatedness. That grad student doesn't belong in the classroom, and I hope you and some of your classmates submit emough angry letters to get the point across to the powers that be. At least that class is almost over.
I would find a beauty parlor for Saturday. It shouldnt cost that much if all you want is a simple "up" do. The better pictures will be worth the cost. I'll be sending you an email about some other stuff, but I appreciate the news.Group projects--Blargh.

One more meeting of that class and then it's just a multiple choice final exam...on the last day of exams.
I'll try to hit up Aveda or something as a walk-in on Saturday afternoon and see what they can do. I doubt makeup will happen, but whatever.
Group projects are designed to make people suffer. The only successful ones I've ever done were in groups entirely composed of somewhat nerdy girls.
