Yes, I'm a lazy bum for not doing an update in forever. However, here's a quick post because I feel weird if I go a month without doing one.
Right now I'm at Myrtle Beach, sitting in the nice quiet business office.
All we've done thus far is go swimming, get sunburned (and the mostly redhead yours truly is not worst off for once,) and wander around Barefoot Landing (basically an open-air mall) to stare at things and see fireworks. The fireworks were awesome and definitely merited a grin near the finale, when all the screaming white fireworks were wiggling around exactly like the sperm on the sort of health video that most of us were forced to watch sometime in high school.
We ate at a place that encourages graffiti on any surface you can reach, so I scribbled a favorite quote from Deathly Hallows (the "always" one, for those of you who have read it) and a few lyrics. Legal graffiti= win.
The only two interesting things I saw while shopping were chocolate fudge (which I bought)and a 9000-piece jigsaw puzzle of the zodiac wheel with some stars in the background. I don't give a darn about the zodiac superstition, but there's a nice painting for each sign and the whole thing is gorgeous. It's expensive, so the whole thing is iffy, but I really think it would be a puzzle challenge like no other. The biggest jigsaw puzzle I've done to date was 1500 pieces- it was definitely fun, and nothing under 1000 pieces can really hold my attention anymore. I did enjoy the last 1000-piece one that I did; it's a big ice dragon with one big picture in each wing and a few smaller ones up in the scales. The whole thing was shaped like the outline of the dragon, which made the edges and curves tricky enough to keep me entertained for about a week.
I may update this entry later if anything rapturously cool happens or when I get around to transferring some entertaining quotes. Mom's pulling the "family time" card, so getting down here is tricky if I plan to stay long. See you!
