I just got word the other day that (drum roll) I got the teaching job. Sadly, I don't have much time to prepare, and it's for a grade I have never taught....so the learning curve will be very high. But it puts me in the same building as both kids, and that makes this neurotic mom very happy ( Read more... )

That's fabulous news!!! What grade are you teaching? I taught 1st, 2nd, 4th and Special Ed Resource 1-7 during my teaching career. I'll be happy to share any ideas/thoughts/advice you might be interested in.

While your writing may slow down significantly, you'd be surprised how therapeutic it is to write "grown-up stuff" when you've spent your entire day with children. Even if it's a sentence or a paragraph a day, writing adult-level articles, helped keep me from going stir crazy when I felt all I did was tend to children all day.
