I didn't trust TV Guide so I tuned into to Comedy Central at 9:00 and sure enough

150,000 on the National Mall.

The city's infrastructure appeared to have a hard time coping with the influx. Green and Yellow line Metrorail trains were so packed as to be unboardable, and many rally-goers chose to walk to the Mall. Some attendees chose a ( Read more... )

I feel sorry for any here who believed TV Guide. While it will no doubt be available elsewhere, anyone here planning on viewing it at noon got reruns of "Scrubs" instead, which is what was slated for this morning at 9:00.

Fortunately, I also watch The Daily Show and heard them say "Noon Eastern, nine Pacific".

I can't immediately recall if you are on my FB list, but over there I posted a note that the New York Times was one of several news organizations that forbade its employees from attending the rally. What makes them think that they can enforce such an edict?!?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! My head is gonna explode!

Yes, with regard to those orgs that disallowed their employees, it didn't go un-noticed by Stewart/Colbert et al.; they did a proper job of lampooning. I think it was Colbert who noted that NPR was probably afraid of being perceived as a 'Liberal' news organization. Now, who would think such a thing?
