A) Why would I add in the third-party vote, when you even SAY it's comparable to "none of the above"? They voted AGAINST our man.
B) Oh even better - now my entire state is irrelevant to the political process. I will admit to not having a great awareness of the "swing state" list - but I bet it's a lot smaller than 50. Must be great, to live in Indiana - to matter.
C) I believe that, in addition to seeing the candidates more often in population centers and less often in population vacuums (which just straight up makes at least a little sense), losing the electoral college would also generate an increase in campaigning on the strictly national level. It might even foster more debates - the last bastion of actual pre-election political dialogue.
Oh, and guess what NPR's headline is this morning on their website? "Obama Sails to a Sweeping Victory."
Oh yeah, us Democrats are keeping our heads cool and our egos in check. We've got it under control. (Apparently we just want to look like runaway trains anywayOh, and joy of joys

I said many of the same things while watching the "results." They were very nice speeches though.
I think the biggest problem moving forward is that many people expect Barack to perform immediate miracles, and many on the other side expect him to fail immediately. Both sides will be upset within six months when they discover that miracles in politics take time.
Thank you for the quotes. They are well-earned, unfortunately.
I thought McCain's speech was the best oration he's done in weeks. It reminded me of the McCain I wholeheartedly would have supported over Hilary.
Worse - I expect that after March, many of the bonds that are holding Democratic special interest groups together will start to become dry and brittle, and the delicate coalition that is the Democratic party will resume its pointless infighting over priority. It will be downright embarrassing.
Your Thought on a nice wedding ring...

A question I wanted to ask. Guys, do you feel the need to go all out and spend months of your income on an engagement ring to please your girl?
Women, does the money he spends on the ring actually increase how much love you feel for your man?
I dont have a ton of money in my amount of money but the ring I got for my potential wife the other day she said was to small so that sucked and now I don't know what to do. So, what's your thoughts on this?
