Age: UNKNOWN, presumably late teens to early 20s (but according to everybody's Somebodies in BBS I've been pretty wrong before, so I couldn't tell you)
~*Magical*~ abilities and strengths: He has Organization-brand powers of dark portal things and also hammerspace. This means he can pretty much teleport around places by opening a dark hole that makes a schhhwuunng sound and then walking through it. Also, he summons weapons instead of carrying one around.
Specific Demyx Powers
-He summons a sitar, which is an Indian instrument that's kind of like a guitar. Actually, I'm not sure how they decided it was a sitar because they usually have like 20 strings and Dem's has… 3.
-He can summon water clones that are easy to defeat, and for some reason, you can pick them up and swing them at each other? Which is silly. He only uses these in timed battle, and his opponent apparently gets knocked out if they aren't destroyed by the time limit. I don't even know.
-Using the sitar, he can also make geyser-like things that shoot up from the ground, usually a few in succession that move him forward or surround his opponent. Would make a pretty water+light show.
-Bubbles! He can shoot his opponent with bubbles. That hurt. Apparently.
-Blunt force. With the sitar. Of course.
How would they use their abilities?: To be honest, Demyx never wants to use his abilities. He's just so lazy. But if he ever uses them, it'll be out of necessity, from an order (that he is taking out of necessity) or for kicks (IE that awesome water and light show that I now really want to play out)
Appearance: He's kind of… tall-ish? And he's pretty thin all around; his shoulders look bigger than they are because his hood is huge. Anyway, he's very animated and kind of has this weird… slouch thing.
He has a hairstyle that has been dubbed by the fandom as a mullhawk. It's like a weird… flat top… that tapers down to the back of his neck as a mullet kind of thing… yeah, it's weird. It's like a dirty-blond, light brownish color. The sides seem to be somewhat shaved. His eyes are bright light blue and he also has a rather longish nose (I guess in comparison to everyone else's) and naturally very arched eyebrows. He also has a very wide mouth. He has a pale-ish complexion and a youthful facial shape that is long but with very curved cheeks.
Because of KH's eyelash design (all black, double-lined bottoms), Dem looks like he wears guyliner and mascara 24/7. But that's alright, because if he weren't wearing his work coat and work boots and work gloves, he would look like he belonged at a David Bowie concert, which he would enjoy anyway. (As much as he can enjoy anything, anyway.)
Speaking of work, his coat is much the same as everyone else's except that the zipper seems to be thinner and his sleeves are of the skinny variety with belled bottoms.
Background/Personality: First things first: Demyx is a Nobody. This is a special race of characters from Kingdom Hearts that has a somewhat complicated creation and basically means Demyx has no heart and is physically unable to feel emotions. Each Nobody is derived from his or her Somebody, who is a regular human with a heart and everything. Absolutely nothing is known about Demyx's Somebody (including his name!) but Dem does have the memories of his previous life, so I guess if someone asks him about it, I'll have to headcanon everything… sob.
Anyway, between ten and two years ago (I'm assuming it's on the closer side to ten) "Demyx" was born. Apparently he's really good at recon but he's bad at fighting and just about every other mission possible. Actually, he's not even that bad at fighting (the fans usually agree his fight is a bitch, mostly for the timed clones thing, but he's not exactly weak), he's just wimpy.
Anyway, probably immediately after becoming a humanoid Nobody, Demyx joined up with Organization XIII, a band of humanoid Nobodies (and a… moogle??*) whose goal is to get hearts. Well not really, Xemnas's goal is power, which kind of undermines the entire Organization, but anyway, that's who he works with. He lived in The World That Never Was.
Demyx is incredibly lazy and when he's not avoiding doing work, he's usually complaining about all the work he has to do and then wondering when he gets to have a vacation! According to Axel, it's never.
Demyx is also very laid-back, not really concerned about things in general. He doesn't interact very well with enemies, being kind of awkward and totally uncomfortable. Sometimes he doesn't even get along very well with his coworkers, calling them bossy and reporting to be afraid of Larxene. Then again, most normal people would probably be frightened of Larxene.
He's been described as… bizarre. And for all purposes, he kind of is. He uses some outdated and strange slang in regular speech, and skips from friendly to cold on the turn of a dime. Dem's also pretty dorky and derpy, and would most prefer to chillax somewhere with just himself and his sitar, rocking out.
Even though this is his ideal vacation, he is pretty social, especially for an Organization member. He seems to get along pretty well with Axel and Xigbar, especially, even calling Xigbar "Xiggy." He also seems on fair terms with Xion.
Demyx is kind of written as a comic relief character, often with parenthetical thoughts to convey a continuation of what he says, which usually results in him planning to be as lazy as he can possibly muster. In fact, he once says that, if he is assigned double-duty, he will do twice the amount of underachieving. On the bright side, at least he admits to what he is.
He seems to not be easily insulted, unless it's about his heart, which he says he has (which is a lie, obviously.) Though he is mostly lighthearted, his serious side comes into play when it has to. For about ten seconds. He's not very good at keeping up that kind of a serious guy mask.
Essentially throughout this whole time, he is just doing a few missions (or getting Roxas to do his missions-- Demyx will manipulate Roxas into doing them just because he really doesn't want to) and presumably otherwise playing his sitar and sleeping a lot.
Aside from that, he's a pretty friendly guy, if only on the surface.
He does seem like one of the most… hearted? of the Organization. When they laugh, his stands out as being slightly nervous, and because when he dies, he shows signs of actual agony like he really wants to live. Oh, and for some reason he is like the only one not to dissipate into black shit, but rather, he disappears into a bunch of bubbles. I'm not sure why this is, but I like to assume it's because of all the Organization members, he's on the lighter side. (Light as in light and dark, not light and heavy.)
According to the manga, in his downtime, Demyx also plays games like Twister with Zexion?? lol… I'm not sure what this says about Zexion, but it further accentuates Demyx's carefree and laid-back kind of personality.

3rd person sample: Something Demyx likes about the Thor is that even though it's all fake, at least it's not dark and dreary all the time. What this means, is that he can sit outside in the park and play music. And so he does, quite a lot, and he's even gotten a little cup to hold tips in, because his friends are starting to notice him magically appearing exactly around mealtimes.
As it turns out, sometimes that's a mission: playing music-- he likes that about the Thor, too. It's not all about collecting hearts, which is a boring and thankless job (thankless considering what happened.) All in all, he's adjusting to life on a ship pretty well. Sometimes when they dock, he goes and checks out the world, and even if his mind's in recon mode, it's all by choice. It never feels like a chore.
It doesn't really matter, because the thought doesn't cross his mind. He's too busy remembering what fun feels like and deciding for himself if that is what he's having, because it's almost like something he's feeling. The emotion is just barely tangible, like a dream. It takes him a minute before he realizes he hasn't thought about what he's playing and that he stopped.
He stares down at his sitar for a second before changing his tune, and he starts over.
