I admit, I skimmed. I read about being able to possibly cure diseases with the methods, and that it would be possible to create almost any type of tissue, but would a full-scale organ transplant or some sort of replacement surgery be possible?

Once the methodology is perfected, I don't see why not. In the article they're talking about the method to being a work-around for the "ethical" concerns for stem-cell research. Since basically according to this, any cell no matter the age can be a stem cell.
