The camera is a marvel of technology at moments like that! I think I've finally reached the point where it feels like an extension of both my hands and eyes.
Thanks! A lot went right with that--the ball in focus and at a spot where it stood out well, Tek reaching, and all the fielders looking in... if I could only have had the baserunner.
Belated happy birthday, BTW! What did you get for lenses?
Really! The ball is so sharp it looks like there's no way it's traveling 90 MPH.
Thanks! I got the Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 (already taken some of my softball team and it does well for action shots!) and 28-70mm f/2.8-4. Those, plus the 50mm f/1.8, are going to serve me very well, I think.
agreed! if my ladyfriend isn't at work maybe i can bring her with me and you can help me continue her red sox education. (she's a wicked pats fan and a wicked bruins fan and a ... struggly red sox fan. ;D)

The hawk shots are almost as good as your 'Tek shots... almost ;-)

And shamefully belated thanks for your good thoughts for my mom. She's doing a lot better, I'm glad to say.
