Three days, three states--my weekend!

Jul 27, 2009 10:25

Friday I made a one-day dash down to New York to see kteeski for lunch, a stroll, and a couple of beers. I miss her like heck, and it was extremely bittersweet; it felt like what ought to have been the first afternoon of several days hanging out and then it was over in a flash. I am just going to have to get myself on that plane to SF ( Read more... )

I love the pictures of Drew and Brian Roberts. I like when Drew smiles, he has a pretty nice one.

My GAWD, Roberts and Drew are at it again! Don't tell me they're not - I mean, just LOOK at those faces! ROFLMAO!!

Reddick definitely had the porn stashe when I saw him last week - I was thinking it was maybe a tribute, along with his number - to Dewey. ;-) But the mohawk is most certainly new.

Any sign of Jason Place? I haven't heard anything about his injury, but I also haven't seen him in the box scores, either.

My understanding is that the concussion put Place on the DL. I didn't see him anywhere. Navarro, whom I was hoping to see play, was in the dugout.

I SWEAR Josh Reddick looks different every time I see him. He was rather orange and spikey the only time I've ever met him in person, but whenever I see him (pictures, on NESN, on MiLB.tv), I can never recognize him.

That said, I am loving the long mohawk/pornstache combination.

And one other thing I've been meaning to ask you--how do you get the players so fabulously in focus? Is it the lens (I do, admittedly, have a Sigma zoom, so the autofocus isn't great)? Is it the camera? What's your aperture set at, generally? Teach me, o master! ^_^

The autofocus depends both on the lens and the body. I think both the 50D and 40D have better autofocus than the Rebels (more focus points and probably more speed); add that to my lenses reacting faster and I have a bit of a head start there. That said, if your camera has different AF modes be sure you have picked one of the ones for a moving subject! (Easily, the capability of my camera that blows me away the most is its ability to retain focus on a moving subject ( ... )

I know. I can't thank you enough for making the trip.
I was quite sad on the train back to NJ thinking we should have been finding dinner - more beer and strange situations.
I really hope that AL East vs NL West brings the RS to SF...you must attend. And if Cyn wants to venture this far west, she is welcome here of course as well!!!
I would love to see you again before then but I would also love for you to see the park out here.
