Prompt # 97: Life
Oropher watched over his son, Thranduil, as his elfling slept.
Thranduil was beautiful and his spirit was glowing as the sun rose up in the sky.
Oropher missed a bit as Thranduil first fell as he tried to walk. Oropher took him into his arms as he hugged him never wanting to leave his side.
The king watched over his son every day, not seeming to care too much for his kingly duties as he was more enthralled with what his elfling did, and of his joy in life even when the darkness engulfed them, and orcs came and came.
The king walked to his elfling's chamber. He opened the door carefully, trying not to disturb his rest and walked with silent steps toward his only son.
"Thranduil, my beautiful ion… how I missed you.” Oropher said in the silence, it was as a whisper or touch of the wind as it blew in the room.
His ion was still asleep, as if Thranduil knew that his adar was in the room to protect him from any evil.
Oropher watched from Mandos' Halls as Elrond told Thranduil that his father had died. He wished to go down to him, to comfort him, but knew that Mandos could not permit it.
