Basic info:

1. What’s your middle name? I have 2 -- Danielle Marie

2. Where were you born? Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.

3. Where have you lived and where do you live now? I lived in Sudbury for 19 years ... alright, if you want me to be more specific, I moved from Sudbury, to Val Caron, to Lively, then back to Sudbury, but those are just all small suburbs of Sudbury. The day after my 19th birthday I moved to Texas, where I've lived in Las Colinas, Plano, and now Savannah.

4. What do you do for work? Are you in your desired profession or are you working toward something else (what?)? I'm currently staying at home and trying to take care of the house. I'm working towards being a stay at home mother, which I've wanted to do for a long time.

5. Do you collect anything? (If so, what?) I have a vast collection of yarn to use in "future projects". It mostly just sits.

6. Do you have a particular affinity for anything? I love to crochet. I also love to read. I'm also fond of ketchup chips, which are solely Canadian and that makes me cry.

7. What's your view on religion and/or spirituality? I'm spiritual, but not religious. I think there's a force bigger than all of us out there, but I don't believe in the Christian definition of God. I firmly believe that our deceased loved ones watch over us, but I don't think they're angels. I also loved Alice Sebold's version of heaven from her book "The Lovely Bones".

Growing up (childhood/teenage years):

1. What is your most vivid memory? I have so many ... my earliest memory ever is of getting bitten by a hamster. I remember the precise moment in time when I became convinced my dad knew everything (a fact that I still sometimes believe to be true!). I remember hanging out with friends and laughing. I remember so much, and yet still sometimes feel like it's not enough.

2. What is the most random memory you’ve recently remembered? Yesterday, when Sheryl Crow's "All I Wanna Do (Is Have Some Fun)" came on the radio the other day and I remembered how myself and my friend/next door neighbour Calvin would play it on the tape deck in his mom's car as she took us to Laurentian University's pool for the free swim days they used to have.

3. What was your favorite toy (one for all of your different ‘phases’ is okay)? I used to love my little plastic shopping cart and play kitchen with all the plastic food. My mom used to give me all the empty boxes of pasta and stuff too to put in my "pantry". To this day, as odd as it sounds, I have an affection for pretend kitchens and food and can't wait to play with all that stuff again when my kiddo will be old enough.

4. What was your favorite book? Did you read it again as an adult? How did your perception of the book change, or did it? I loved "Ciel d'Afrique et pattes de gazelles", which I must have read at least 50 times. I think the library card in it is full of only my name. I'd love to find it and re-read it again. I also loved "Island of the Blue Dolphins" which is still great, in my opinion.

5. Were you indoors or outdoors more often? I went out at sunrise and came back in when the streetlights came on. We would just poke our heads inside long enough to eat meals and then we were gone again.

6. What music did you listen to (again, by ‘phase’ is okay)? I went through a country phase, since my parents liked it. Then I fell in love with Alanis Morissette, and then the Smashing Pumpkins. The last two have remained favourites.

7. Were you radically different as a teenager than you are now? If so, how? Other than maturing, I don't think so, but you'd have to ask my friends. They could give you a better picture.

8. Given the choice, would you have preferred video games, board games, or the arcade? Board games for sure. I can't count how many games of Monopoly I played.

Random Questions:

1. If you could be any superhero, who would you be and why? I'm not really into superheroes. I'd pick someone that can be invisible and fly, because that's just cool.

2. What’s your favorite color and why? Deep purple that is more red than blue. (make sense?) I'm not sure why, I've just always liked it.

3. What type of animal is your favorite? Why? I love most large marine life (whales, dolphins, sharks) and alligators / crocodiles. I also hold a fondness for turtles, and have been known to make Daniel stop the car so I can push a turtle off the road and back into the grass. They don't have a chance if they're in the road and a car comes! They can't get out of the way fast enough!

4. Not considering anything except looks (ignore gas mileage, cost, etc), what vehicle would be your next purchase? I'm quite happy with my Saturn. I've always loved Miatas, though ... but it's not quite a family car.

5. Name three things you’re good at. Reading (no really, I'm pretty quick), spelling, and crocheting.

6. Name three hobbies that you’ve had in the past. Reading, poetry writing, crocheting.

7. What hobbies are you currently pursuing? Reading, crocheting, internet surfing

8. What kinds of music do you listen to (no cop-outs on this question… I want specifics!)? I have a whole list on my Facebook. I still love the Smashing Pumpkins. Barenaked Ladies, Elton John, and Soul Coughing / Mike Doughty are also favourites.

9. Do you prefer movies or television? Why? TV. I fall asleep during movies.

10. What TV shows have you watched all episodes of? 24, CSI (all 3), The Office, Mythbusters, Les filles de Caleb TV mini series.

11. What type of movie is your favorite and why? On this question, I’d like a description of the genre or style, not specific movies (but maybe as examples). I usually like indie films. Something touching, but no chick flicks. I hate predictability.

12. How do you recharge when you’re physically and/or mentally worn out? Read, go for a walk, talk on the phone to family / friends.

13. Tell me something I don’t know about you. I have a red strawberry birthmark right above my navel.

14. Tell me a strange habit that you have. When going up flights of stairs, I have to count them.

15. Write a haiku. I am le tired / But it's only barely eight / I will fight it still.

16. Describe your favorite article of clothing. Right now I'm loving the long style of tank tops.

17. Describe your favorite used-item purchase (e.g. from a thrift store, resale shop, antique store, etc). The onesie and matching blanket I got for the baby at a yard sale. They have cute giraffes on them!

18. What kinds of food are “comfort food” to you? Do you make it yourself, or do you preferred it prepared by someone or someplace in particular? Macaroni and cheese from the box, made at home. Minute rice with butter and cheese. Pasta with butter and parmesan. I eat like a college kid.

19. What makes you feel “old?” Does it worry you, or do you laugh about it? When my friends are all now getting married and I've been married for 4 and a half years. I just chuckle.

20. Recommend three websites: one blog link, one serious link, and one humorous link. Blog: Other than dooce.com, all the blogs I read are on LJ. Serious: cnn.com is where I get my news. Humourous: perezhilton.com, my guilty pleasure.
