yeah i know it sucks loosin a good friend like that, but its just something that had to be done. I'm sure if you wanted to you could see Nike again sometime. At least you can hope he'll be really happy with Morgan's family. I'm sure that you made the right decision to give up Nike to someone who can give him all the love he deserves (and i know that you love him too) so don't get too upset about it. At least you didnt make glue outta' him or anything like that.

The last thing you probably need is a sob story about my old horsey, so I'll save it for another day. The point is, it's not about losing money on a sound investment, or letting Nike down. You gave him a chance for 2 years of his life, and things just weren't meant to be. I'm sure he learned from you, how to jump an oxer or trot on the bit or whatever, and I'll bet you learned from him too. In life, we move on from a lot of things-- activities, friends, lovers, passions.... Fundamentally, as long as you had a positive learning experience with Nike, things are for the better. As long as there's grass to eat and a little girl to give him sugar cubes once in a while, he'll be happy to the end of his days, and you'll have learned in the time you spent together ( ... )
