I was watching the Annual Scripps Spelling Bee compettition 2005 on ESPN yesterday. The winner was Anurag Kashyap...close to 114 "brilliant" children participated, 31 were Indians...Out of the final 6, 4 were Indians

Yes, but with Americans, we have a hardship to overcome. With the public school system the way it is today it's amazing that anyone can spell their own name. Hell, look at my LJ friends list. So many friends, many of them are actually really smart. Can't spell to save their lives. Sad, really.
On the flip side, I myself WON a spelling bee once. (2nd grade classroom spelling bee)

The same hardships apply to the Indians as well...These were all expats, Indian children born and bought up in the US studying in the same public school as their fellow Americans..Nearly all of them US citizens, 2nd/3rd generation Americans..how do you explain that!!
