what would happen if the public completely left her alone? no paparazzi, no fans, no pictures or autographs, nothing. that's the kind of cold turkey i'd like to see her go through. even my scenario is a paradox, wanting to see what would happen if we left her alone.

sometimes i think she's a serious martyr for our times. real life sacrificed, forced into being a constantly performative spectacle. if i were to write that postmodern feminist paper now, it would totally be all about britney.
