Quick Question for LJ Pros

Jul 06, 2003 01:51

Is there an option to approve or not approve someone who wants to be on your friend's list? I don't really care who adds me, but there may be a few specific people (i.e. family) I'd like to restrict if they tried to find and read my LJ. Sorry if it's a stupid question, but I'm kind of sleepy and didn't see that option right off.

I think you're asking if you can approve if someone wants to add you as a friend, which doesn't really put them on your friends list. That's your friends of list. You have to add any friends you want on your friends list. People who dont list you as a friend can still read your journal by going straight to it. If you don't want people reading you need to make all your entries friends only. in lj(underscore)nifty they have a tool listed that can turn all your entries friends only for you, or you can just make the "personal" stuff friends only as you post them. sorry, my underscore key is broken. But anyway since you pick your friends, you can be sure only the friends you pick read your friends only entries.

Got to go now.. hope that helps

Oh cool, thanks. I thought if someone added me as a friend, they could then read my "friend's only" posts. But I think I have it now - only people *I* add as a friend can read those, so others can list me as a friend, but I have to actively add them for them to be one of *my* friends. Thanks!
