the detox is still going well. i extended this first week by two days, because there were two days in the week that i wasnt able to drink the right amount of tea and take the supplements [busy-ness, running around, late for school]. but ive been sticking to the dietary rules perfectly. the biggest challenge is still the amount of food im eating ( Read more... )

I'm interested in doing this.

I've been training for a marathon and have been really good about running and doing other forms of exercise, but because I'm swamped at work pretty much all the time, all I eat is crap. Today the majority of what I ate consisted of large quantities of candy, popcorn, and coffee. Which is probably a big part of why I'm exhausted all the time. Clearly, I need a change. I think this could work for me if I prepared meals the night before.

Is there a link you could send that gives more specific details about the detox?

Thanks!

jill,

the plan is from the book "the 4 week ultimate body detox plan" by michelle schoffro cook. shes a doctor of natural medicine and a holistic nutritionist! its a great book, very easy to read and very relatable. she lays the entire plan out to you, but allows for a lot of flexability. it is pretty serious, though. there is a lot of preparation of food and teas involved. you have to make your own blends of tea, make sure youre eating certain things at certain times of day, and taking supplements. im just going into week two and ive noticed so many changes, though. so i definately think its worth all of the time and preparation. a month seems like a long time to be detoxing, but it really is going by quickly because it is broken up into weeks.

Thanks a lot, Meghan! This is something I've been meaning to do for a long time, but I didn't really know where to start. I'll definitely check out the book, and I look forward to reading more of your updates--it's totally motivating.
