One day I'm going to construct a shrine to it! I just read your post, it sounds like your headache passed but still - I'm sorry that you had it. If I had your history, I would freak out every single time my head hurt:(
"But dogs live for walkies!"
I know, it made so sad. She didn't even grasp "playing" at first, it took me some time to teach her. Will see how our walk goes tonight.
I know:(! She didn't really even know how to play when I moved in. We are making progress. At least now she waits for me at the gate, dashes across the yard, comes back to me & lays down on her back, wiggling with joy the whole time.
Duffy is kind of Maryanne Faithfullish, if you go back that far. It's a bit popier than I usually listen to, but I'm really enjoying it. I'll give Adele a listen. Thanks!
"The smell of cigarette smoke must have first freaked you out."
It did. Our whole house used to smell like that. Urgh. Still don't know how or why the letting go finally happened but it was certainly time & it feels wonderful.
7. Finally getting my landlord's dog on a leash & taking a walk! No one walks the dog, it breaks my heart.
That's so sad :( Isn't there someone that can be informed? Animal protection or something similar? Someone who will take the doggy away from your landlord and find a new better home for her? :( It's so nice of you, that you took her for a walk. She must have been very happy. *hugs*
Actually, the dog has a large yard, food & water. She gets baths on a regular basis just no walks or play time. However sad, that doesn't constitute abuse.
I forgot your sweetie dog's name:(! Give him a big smooch on the nose for me.
In my opinion, not walking a dog and not playing with him at all is abuse. But you're right, it's probably not enough to get someone to take a dog away from his owner :/

His name is Ajax :) I'll give him a big smooch on Wednesday (he lives with my father).

Good for you-letting go. The smell of cigarette smoke must have first freaked you out.
I'll have to listen to Rockferry, I'm not too familiar with Duffy. I just discovered another English singer, Adele, and she's pretty good.
