More Prop 8
At this moment 10,000 people are marching in protest of the passage of California's Prop 8. They started at Sunset Junction & are making their way to the intersection of Hollywood & Vine. This is the fourth night of protests/demonstrations & another is scheduled for tomorrow.
Question: Do you think these protests will help or hurt the cause?
In the past, I've always taken part in anti war demonstrations & equality rallies. I had planned to participate in these as well. Last night I was talking to my friends (the one's whose marriage will probably declared void by Prop 8) and they feel that actions such as these will alienate even more people. I disagree, provided the protests stay non-violent but I did not attend. Tomorrow I will join them at the church where they were married. All the same sex couples that have been married at the church since May, accompanied by there friends & family will be there, along with much press. A better choice? I'm conflicted. Any input?
