Today at the mall I was encouraged to try out a modeling contest. Of course, I was encouraged by the people who were running it, so it was mostly likely a sham compliment. I'm an easy sell, and immediately warmed up to this person and believed her lies. But as I walked away I knew I had been played, so this pic is in honour of the good folks at ( Read more... )

Did you get the name of the people running the modeling contest? I went to the IMTA convention in NYC a few years ago. It was a lot of money, & I didn't get that much out of it (aside from some nice photos that were taken beforehand, & 2 honorable mention ribbons). But it was fun spending a few days in NYC (I lived a half hour away at the time, but always would go in for only a few hours at a time).

I did, though I left it in the other room. I actually investigated it for friends of the family, they have the cutest kids in I'm sure the world, and would love for them to give it a shot. Unfortunately its a local thing, so no dreams of New York or other exotic climes. The one you went to sounds quite official.

IMTA was legit as far as the agents that went to scout for talent, but you have to be real lucky to get a huge break from it. Katie Holmes was the big success story we heard about when we were getting ready for it.
