De turk ur jeeyurbs!!!!

Woohoo, been having me some fun in my little scrap of the world. Nothing new on the job front, though the place I used to work at, Chapters Bookstore, is opening a branch in my neighbourhood and holding the job fair next month. Does that make me a lock? Heh, what a beautiful, naive world that would be. I think I might still give it a shot, now that ( Read more... )

Nice choice in music! ;) Hey...congrats on the acting role!!! That's unreal news Ben! :) If I was there, I'd buy tickets for sure. If you're gonna be "doing a DeNiro" as you put it, does that mean you're going to do the whole creepy tats as well? (a la Cape Fear?) Or launching into poses in front of your mirror with guns poised in your hands? Gee, I hope it doesn't go that far...

Woohoo for you! :) And the book gig sounds unreal as well. Looks like things are coming into place for you. 'Cos Saturn has finally left Cancer and that means most difficulties are finally passed for us both after more than 2 years - hooray for that, eh?

Good Luck!! If I had an absinthe in my hand, I'd raise it in your honour.

Xxx

Thanks Tiff! It's going to be insane for me, like 18 pages of dialogue I need to learn. I fear my brain has reached its capacity for information, might need to forget some things just to shove that script in. I have the worst memory and havent acted since high school. Still, it's a cool 50 bucks lol!

Tiff, I was quite offended by something you wrote in your last post to me though. You brought up some DeNiro character traits, and I just have to come clean...were you typing to me? I mean, were you typing to me? You gotta be typing to me, i don't see anyone else here.... ok, cheesy, yes, but you KNEW I had to go in that direction heh heh. Maybe i should have used Christian Bale as an example, I'd love to lose 10-15 lbs before the performance. Still, I'm starting to think your joking had some merit. My character is a dude who gets interupted in sleep by his subconscious (in the form of a monster) after cheating on his girlfriend. I'd love it if all of a sudden I jumped out of the bed, mohawk, LUV and HATE tatooed on my knuckles, telling ( ... )

LOL!!!

I dare you!

I double dare you!!!

Lol! Not a chance, heh. I have absolutely no guts, and to do that would take a yard and a half. The knuckle tatooes, however, always remain a future project.

That's awesome that you're in a play! (And you're getting paid for it, no less!) Which play is it?

And have a great birthday, if I don't "speak" to you before then! Banjos rock! I've never picked one up before. Is it THAT much different from guitar?

It's a local group that runs various original shows throughout the year. They have like 4-5 writers and a handful of directors, all using local talent. I'm assuming it's ultra unpolished but charming nonetheless. Its my first time doing it, even seeing it. Im completely new to it all. I play a dude who cheats on his girlfriend, and has to deal with all this psychological ramifications personified as a monster. Kinda fun, I'm going for a whole Bill Paxton/Bruce Campbell thing.

I guess the banjo isnt all that different from a guitar, though none of the chords translate over. Also, with guitar I'm used to standard tuning, where the open strings go from the lowest E to the highest E. With banjo standard G tuning, the fifth string at the top is the highest note, so that takes some getting used to. Not to mention the darn fingerpicking. My digits are so clumsy!

If I werent as witty as I am ( which is a lot) I would have answered this post with a generic "What are you smoking n' kin I have sum?". But since I have wit coming out of my wazoo (aka 'buttocks') I can answer with a "whaaaaaaa???"

Thank you for this blast of a post. I'd love to ask you what it all meant and where it came from, but that would ruin it all, wouldn't it? :P

Thanks again!

My jaw dropped when I read this, honey. I thought you would be familiar with The Birthday Party, if you were such a fan of Nick Cave. Unless you're more interested in the creepy murder balad aspect of him and not the sleazier aspect. :P

But seriously, do you know who they are? This was a pretty popular song of theirs...if you don't, I really think you ought to try and get something of theirs.

Anyhow, you get out and have SUCH guts, God, do I envy you! So glad you had a good time.

OH! By the way, I requested "Sex Beat" on a local college radio station the other night, and he played it...and then I requested a 16 HP song...and he played it! I was so excited. But I totally requested that song in honor of you. :D

I appreciate your post sooo much more now that i know the source of it. Yeah, I never got into The Birthday Party unfotunately, a little too raw and ker-aaazy for me. I'm all The Bad Seeds, all those beautiful lilting (did I just saw lilting?) tunes and the dark, poetic lyrics are more my thang. Although there is a soft spot in my heart for Release the bats. "VAMPIRE....BITE!!!!"

"Sex Beat", is that a Gun Club song (thank you very much Google) I still have to hear their stuff. Thanks for the 16 HP though, which song praytell was it?

As you should be ;) Naw, banjo is cool, Im digging it. Though my fingers are far too fat and dyslexic to ever be able to banjo pick. Here's hoping, though.
