In Which I Piss & Moan

May 26, 2008 22:46

In keeping with my long-standing tradition of posting blog entries well after the fact, this one has been sitting on the back burner for over 3 weeks. It has its good parts and bad parts, but overall I'd say the main thrust is fairly angsty, so you should probably continue only if you enjoy the occasional cup of schadenfreude.

livejournal cuts can be used to place the bulk of your entry behind a clickable link. )

Oh I'm so sorry, Nick! Thorough unpleasantness all around.

That chick was missing out. SRSLY.

The darkly ironic part is that we first "met" via her posting a question on her blog, about what she should do if some guy messages her, and she's not interested in talking/dating him: Should she write back with a (polite) rejection, or just ignore him completely? I commented that I hate being blown off, never knowing if I'm going to recieve a reply, and so she should always write a "thanks but no thanks" to anyone with reason to think that they might have actually had a chance with her. So, naturally, she decides to drop me without a word. Gotta love it.

But of course, if we took this situation to the opposite extreme, I could have a Honduran stalker. So I don't feel too bad about my lot.

Also: as long as it's not the 13th/14th of June, I should be able to make it to your party. That would be fun!

Your mom STILL won't use the washer even though you have proven it to be functional?

Well, yesterday she expressed surprise that the washer had been hooked up. She did have something of a point, as neither Dad nor I had actually *told* her that it worked, or that we were doing laundry without going to the laundromat. Then again, on the day that I dropped the machine down the stairs, I had made it plain to her that a) Dennis would be hooking it up on Monday, just as scheduled, and b) if it was in fact broken, I would quickly replace it. (Since nearly four weeks went by without my getting a new one, the existing one must therefore work.) But since that was an . . . emotional day, I'm going to grant her the benefit of the doubt and accept that she forgot about a) and b).

Yeah, I'd been thinking I should call you and ask about fencing, but I seem to always be working, sick, or simply exhausted. HOWEVER!!!! My lawn has finally been mown, and I'm feeling very motivated to exercise, so...
Party. Hm. Well, I really recommend against the 21st of June, that being a Roller Betties bout, as well as midsummer festivities. Maybe the weekend after? The 14th would be good for me, but I don't know about for others.

June 7th? celtlass June 2 2008, 04:40:15 UTC
Would the evening of the 7th of June work? I can get to Bellingham by about 6:30 if all goes well with the canoe trips. If you're inclination isn't too steep, I'd love to camp out with my brand-new-nylon-stinking tent. I'll bring some food and beverage to share, a pennywhistle, and a few fire-roasting sticks. I refuse to call them weenie sticks, as they're obviously quite fierce and pokey. Silly but good movie suggestions: Eagle vs Shark, Caveman, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, Benny & Joon, Best-of Animation Shorts, Wallice & Grommit, Blazing Saddles, The Muppet Show/Movies...

Sorry, Nick, I've been neglecting livejournal since February. At first I had the excuse of excessive work (though I think you've outdone me in that category), but now I'm focusing on buying a house in Seattle. We're putting in a bid tomorrow. It's probably the most scary/exciting thing I've done since getting married.
