Today is the Winter Solstice, so regardless of the spritiual bent to which you subscribe, at least we can all take comfort in the fact that after tonight, the days start getting a little longer again. Of course, the actual amount of time that the sun spends above the horizon means very little to us

Christmas tree or lack thereof

I only have a tree every year because I inherited my dad's old artificial one from back when he was a bachelor. I have decorated it with a small string of white lights, a coffee bean garland (made from old Starbucks beans), ornaments made out of to-go cups from various coffee shops, and the "star" is a Black Drop to-go cup complete with lid. Someday I will take a picture of it and share it with everyone.

However, I wrote all this to day that it is possible to have a tree and not kill one each year solely for decorative purposes.

Does it bother you at all that the house on McLeod Rd still doesn't have a tenant? Is there a valid reason for the continued vacacy? If you ever do move into that house, I'll offer to help you deck the halls next year.
