I scored as a New Dem which I said wasn't surprising, but I spoke too fast. I just saw Democrat and didn't realize there were two versions. I would have expected to be Old School, too.

I guess the difference is in fiscal conservativism vs fiscal progressiveness. People think I am crazy for wanting high taxes and lots and lots of federal/state social funding :D

I, too, am not one to object to paying taxes. I do want accountability though. The Katrina/FEMA bullshit recently is a perfect example of tax dollars being misused, and I don't like that. Though I believe in the concept of FEMA.

*nods* accountability is a must! The problem is that our federal policies have been revised, rehashed, rewritten, and reconstructed so many times, changing with every administration, that a lot of the original checks and balances have been diluted. I also believe that the perfermance of the civil services is a strong signifer of current political power structure and bias. Posts, such as FEMA director, are politically appointed by the sitting president and their agenda filters down to every level of the bureaucracy. ugh, the Katrina debacle is sad illustration of Bush's utter incompetency!
