Maybe there's something to be said about writing in here regularly. There's a general malaise that hits me once in a while (seems to be in force this particular week), and it struck me today that writing things down--not even necessarily anything pertinent or heartfelt--might ease my mind a little ( Read more... )

The something to be said about writing in here regularly..that's what you say when you write in here! Anyway...I really hope you try out for the MT program...because I'm spending a lot of good money to pay Northwestern to groom leading men for me, and if you don't..well, I'll be a starving artist for no reason.

Now really...I think the least you can do is try out..and it'll be great to keep up with musical things because you can do that without letting your acting slide. I'm in the opposite boat..my acting has falling down the tubes and my singing is merrily winging towards classical. So I'm digging my fingers into a jazz minor and doing the best I can. It all comes down to whether you want to re-enter into a "prestigious program"...like IB was..with a scary director..like K was..and Ms Wineland sure as hell wasn't...I think it'd be worth it..but again..it's not my work...

Hey Hey deafanddumbboy November 19 2003, 04:52:34 UTC
My grandmother, who is a terrible, untalented writer, is none the less hired to write reviews because she is well trained in the ways of music and theater. She says that what she does, in order to prepare on the time that she doesn't NEED to write, is to just allot a time every day, just five minutes, where she sits and writes. Anything. Mostly crap, but it's still good to write because then it's no longer just in your head, right? :)

Plus, we love hearin' from ya.

And hey, might as well go for the musical theater thing, right? I mean, it might be a good excuse to get yer folks to pay for a voice teacher, which is helpful for REGULAR acting, anyway. :)

Anyway, just a thought. Good to see two posts, so close in time to one another.

Catcha later.
