I can't say how much I love it without the fucking, it is that badass. I have the Mac version, so can't speak for the PC, but it's really helped me tackle long projects.
I actually just got a shiny new MacBook Air, which is how I stumbled upon Scrivener - the app store. I'm eyeing it for thesis writing, trying to figure out if it's worth the price.
Mmm. I like it for creative writing, but haven't written a paper on it. I have an old version, and while it does offer a running page count, I haven't found any formatting stuff that'll show print previews-- but you can compile the document and toss it into a .doc file and see it that way. I haven't used it for school work, but I also don't do much large paper writing. It looks like it should be good, though depending on what you need it for. It's primarily a creative writing program, made since there really isn't a good creative program out there.
Yeah, it seems tailor made for creative writing. I just need something I can organize and arrange my thoughts, because linear writing and I do not get along. The app store blurb mentions MLA and APA styles and footnotes and endnotes, so I'm definitely intrigued.
