Last night, a geeky looking 30something closed out his tab, and handed back to J.
J (looking at it): You didn't put a tip on here.
DUDE: ...
J: Put a tip on this.
DUDE: Uh, well, I....
J: I'm going to hand this back to you, because you forgot to put a tip on here.
DUDE: Oh, uh, yes, I guess you're right. I did.

Before I even say anything, let it be known I tip bartenders and waitresses very well (there was a time however i did not tip for beer)...i thought the definition of a tip was a gratuity, or a bonus, at the option of the spender? if the service is meant to be paid for, include it in the bill. if it's optional, a person has the right not to tip. "bartenders work for tips you heartless bastard!!" yeah, i know, i've known about 50 bartenders, none of them have applied for food stamps.

But come on, that's just a totally badass thing to do to the jackass guy. I want to be like that when I grow up.

Tips are pretty annoying. Especially because it's just manipulating the customer into paying for service so they don't have to, but you GOTS to tip well, especially at Che's.
