“Hyung. You look like a panda.” Hyukjae comments. It was a bright Sunday morning, the shining rays of sunlight pours into the kitchen through the windows. Sungmin slumps into a seat next to his apartment-mate and rubs his eyes.
“Are you okay? Something bothering you?” Hyukjae inquires, putting down the spoon for his cereal and peering at Sungmin with worry.
The elder smiles weakly and ruffles his dongsaeng’s hair. “It’s nothing to worry about.” He gets up and walks to pour himself a cup of coffee. He smiles as his tense body relaxes at the familiar aroma. As he takes a big whiff of the warm bittersweet liquid, pain shoots through his body - up his legs and stopping at his temples. Sungmin lets out a soft groan as his grip on the cup slackens and he sways on the spot.
Images of a body lying on the ground, lifeless and unmoving resurface from last night’s dream. The cup shatters, spilling its hot contents as Sungmin grips his head and leans back against the counter for support.
He flinches when warm, gentle arms wrap around him and a worried voice whispers above him. “Hyung! Hyung, are you okay? What happened?” Hyukjae asks, face lined with alarm and fright. Sungmin keeps his eyes closed but regains his balance and stands.
“Nothing. Just a headache.” He mumbles. He tries to force a smile on his dry lips to reassure the younger male. Eunhyuk frowns, not believing it, but thankfully, he doesn’t ask any more.
“If you say so hyung… take some pain meds if it gets really bad.” Eunhyuk mutters, as he slowly slides back into his seat. “And Kyuhyun phoned a while ago to remind you that he’s coming today.”
Sungmin’s headache lessens at the mention of his lover. “Oh right. We’re going out today.” A real smile graces his lips. It’s been 3 years, 4 months and 49 days since they’ve been officially together, but it’s been 5 years, 11 months and 69 days since they first met. Sungmin’s mind clears somewhat as he thinks about Kyuhyun - the tall slender male with a heaven sent voice and a heart-melting smile.
Eunhyuk rolls his eyes, but grins with happiness for his hyung when he sees that dreamy look in the elder’s eyes. He was the one who introduced the two men to one another, and he knew right away that they were meant for each other.
“He’s coming soon, so shouldn’t you get rea-“ His words get cut off as the doorbell rings. Sungmin bounces out of the kitchen, the pain of the headache now gone and replaced by the joy and delight of seeing Kyuhyun.
“Morning sunshine.” The melodious voice says, wrapping long arms around Sungmin as soon as the door opens. Sungmin giggles and inhales the fresh pine-lavender scent of his lover - the images of his nightmare disappearing with every beat his heart beats around Kyuhyun.
“Morning Kyuhyun.” He sighs; looking up and planting a light kiss on the taller male’s jaw line. Kyuhyun smiles warmly, his dark eyes glowing with admiration as he scans his hyung’s lovely face. He leans down and brushes his nose against the elder’s, his lips teasingly tempting Sungmin. A hand gently travels down Sungmin back and to his waist; a finger or two slipping under the shirt and caressing the skin lightly. The elder blushes, not from embarrassment but from the tender touches - Kyuhyun just knew all his weak spots.
“Enough with the PDA! Get. A. Room!” Came Hyukjae’s booming voice. They hear loud footsteps thundering down the hallway. “It’s not even noon for crying out loud! You could at least make it as far as your room before you rape each other!!!”
Sungmin scowls in Hyukjae’s direction as Kyuhyun chuckles with amusement. “He’s so jealous.” He comments, removing his shoes and stepping into the apartment; his arms not leaving Sungmin’s body.
“He needs to get laid.” Sungmin mutters, in a foul mood as Hyukjae has destroyed the atmosphere with Kyuhyun.
The younger just chuckles as he pulls Sungmin down onto the couch with him. “Have you eaten?” he asks, shifting so that Sungmin is comfortably placed on his lap.
“No, I haven’t yet.” Sungmin answers, leaning against Kyuhyun’s warm chest and enjoying the warmth radiating from the body underneath him. He shivers when he feels hands caressing his knees and the small of his back. It wasn’t unusual, Kyuhyun was very touchy-feely and affectionate to him, not that Sungmin is complaining.
Sungmin turns his head to face the younger, searching for what he needs. Kyuhyun reads him like a book and wraps strong arms around the body before him as he leans down to capture the willing lips.
Sparks fly in all directions as beautiful colors paint behind Sungmin’s closed lids. Warmth floods his body as his hands move up to grasp the front of Kyuhyun’s shirt. But as soon as the warmth came, a blindingly cool chill travels down his spine and washes it away. He gasps as he pushes away from Kyuhyun to clutch his spinning head.
Again, images of his dream flashes before him - a lifeless body, darkness, screams… blood. He whimpers when gentle hands lift his chin up and smooth the frown on his face away.
“What’s wrong Sungmin-ah?” the warm voice says, worried.
Sungmin just shakes his head and slowly, his grip loosens. He lets out a shuddering breath and slumps against Kyuhyun. “N-nothing…” Kyuhyun frowns, unbelieving. “…Just a headache.” Sungmin adds.
Kyuhyun’s gaze softens as he carefully strokes Sungmin’s hair and hugs him tightly. “Let’s just stay here for tonight, you need rest if it hurts that much.”
The elder quickly shakes his head. “No. We’re going out today. You and I finally have a break from our jobs. I want to spend all day with you.”
Kyuhyun chuckles lightly. “We can spend time together while you rest. I don’t want you to go out if your sick.”
Sungmin pouts and frowns stubbornly. “No.” he states. “I’m fine, it’s gone now.” And it was true. As soon as the pain came, it disappeared. But the haunting images still linger, causing Sungmin to gulp nervously and ignore them as best as he can.
Kyuhyun stares at Sungmin’s determined pout and sighs. “You’re too stubborn to listen to reason… so, where should we go first?” He smiles as he places a light kiss on Sungmin’s forehead. Sungmin’s pout turns into a smile as he beams up at Kyuhyun.
“Anywhere with you.” He says, placing a chaste kiss on the younger’s lips. Kyuhyun laughs and hugs Sungmin closer.
“You’re such a hopeless romantic.” Kyuhyun mumbles, kissing Sungmin’s hair. The elder’s giggle vibrates through his body.
“But, I’m your hopeless romantic.” Sungmin replies, poking Kyuhyun’s side.
The two laugh freely and images of Sungmin’s nightmare quickly dissipate as the sun rises higher and higher.

“Let’s go already! I want to cook you a new recipe I found!” Sungmin shouts. He pouts as Kyuhyun ignores him and concentrates on the contraption before him. The gentle whirr of the machine fills their ears. Kyuhyun was trying hard to get a stuffed bunny behind the glass. He frowns slightly, his tongue poking out, as he maneuvers the claw and drops it to have it grasp the pink bunny stuffy from the toy machine.
“Almost there…” Kyuhyun says, the corners of his lips turning up into a triumphant smile. He sighs and punches the air when the stuffed bunny is hanging by the foot from the claw of the machine. Sungmin watches with amusement, rarely did his young lover act so… immature.
“Here you go.” Kyuhyun says, turning to Sungmin and handing over the pink bunny. The elder just rolls his eyes, but takes it gratefully. He tries to not smile, for if he did Kyuhyun’s smirk would get even wider.
“Don’t try and deny it hyung. You’re hopping with joy on the inside.” Kyuhyun teases, taking Sungmin’s hand.
The older male just humf’s and puffs out his cheek. But nonetheless, let’s Kyuhyun take his hand. He looks down at the stuffed animal in his arm, a pink bunny with a yellow bow tie and large button eyes. Sungmin bites his bottom lip, trying to not smile and squeal like a child. Kyuhyun watches the conflicting emotions flicker in Sungmin’s eyes, he suppresses a smirk - nearly biting off his tongue in the process.
“Well, shall we go home?” Kyuhyun says, swinging their entwined hands between them. The sun is almost fully set, only tendrils of sunshine streaking across the darkening sky. Cool night air envelops them as they walk at a leisure pace down the busy streets.
Suddenly, white spots appear before Sungmin and he is swaying on the spot. Kyuhyun yelps, but quickly puts his arms around the elder to steady him. Sungmin closes his eyes to block the blinding light but even then, the light keeps appearing behind his closed lids.
“Hyung, hyung! Talk to me, are you all right? Sungmin!” Kyuhyun shouts, patting Sungmin’s cheeks.
“Fine. I’m fine.” Sungmin whispers. Again, the mental images flicker in his mind. But this time, the body looked so… familiar. He shudders.
“Is it the headache again? I told you we should’ve stayed home.” Kyuhyun says, worry and fright in his voice.
Sungmin regains his balance, but leans against Kyuhyun for support anyhow. He wanted, no, needed the warmth from the younger. They continue walking until they stop at an intersection and the pedestrian light is red.
“What’s wrong? Are you sick?” Kyuhyun asks, “You’re shaking like crazy.” He wraps strong arms around Sungmin’s shoulder and places a light kiss on the temple.
A car passes by them. Sungmin’s eyes widen as his heart speeds up.
A blinding light… a scream… a body… blood…
He shakes his head to clear the thoughts, but it does no good. His hands shake uncontrollably as he feels so… aware and nervous. He tightens his grip the bunny in his arms.
He feels it.
Something bad is going to happen soon. Very soon.
“Hey, it’s green. Let’s go.” Kyuhyun gently whispers, his hands sliding down to grasp Sungmin’s shaking hand. Sungmin’s heart thuds with fear and he stands unmoving on the sidewalk. “No.” he whispers, pulling Kyuhyun back beside him. The younger frowns, he was half on the road and half on the sidewalk.
“Sungmin?” he calls, lightly pulling at their joined hands. The elder’s eyes widen with horror as the same images come back to him, but this time much clearer. His lips begin to shake as he sees the unmoving body on the ground; covered with blood… it was Kyuhyun. He let’s go of Kyuhyun’s hand and grips his head as tears glaze his eyes.
His sight refocuses back to the younger, who is on the road and staring at him with worry and confusion. Sungmin, himself was half on and half off the sidewalk. As he tries to warn Kyuhyun and pull him back to the safety of the sidewalk. But it was too late.
Before anyone screams or warns them, a car swerves around the corner and Sungmin’s head snaps to that direction at the exact moment. He is frozen on the spot as he stares into the headlights. Kyuhyun follows his gaze. His eyes widen, but as he is about to move out of the way, with a silent screech of the car’s breaks, he is hit.
People around scream and shout. Sungmin slowly turns his head; his head was spinning as a pang of déjà vu hits him. His lips are dry as his unfocused eyes see the blood and the body lying unmoving before the red sports car. He doesn’t realize that a piercing scream leaves his lips as he falls to his knees. Tears streak down his cheeks, marring his beautiful face. He crawls over to Kyuhyun’s body and takes his hand to place it on his cheek. Kyuhyun’s eyes are half open; dark and lifeless. The bunny is dropped beside him, stained with blood.
“Kyuhyun… Kyuhyun…” he whispers, voice cracking. “No…no…”
Sungmin closes his eyes, the unending supply of tears running down his cheeks.
His dreams weren’t a nightmare… they were a premonition - warning him of this.

A/N: >.< I’m sorry. This is sad, no? -sighs- this was supposed to be posted yesterday when I wrote it. (I was in a… bitter mood) but as I read it today I was going like “O.o… why did I write this?” aahh, well. Mixed emotions of school being a butt, friends becoming distant and parents wanting more and more from me… conjures up something like this!
But I am writing another fic, that I may or may not post today (depends on if I finish it on time), that is going to be full of fluff, or as some may call my fics, “smuff.”
Thanks for reading!
(Here’s a tissue if anyone is crying. I know, I killed Kyu… broke KyuMin.)
Comments are loved and appreciated. ^^
