1. Is the main blower turning on? Yes? go to step 2 2. Is the compressor starting outside? No -> step 3 3. See if you can pull the cover off the back side. There could be a motor start capacitor that has failed (is it swollen on the sides or end?). If that is the only problem that's a ~$40 part you can get from an industrial supply house. Make sure the power to the compressor is OFF and power to the whole AC system is off (at the breaker). Check the capacitor and see if it's swollen. If so, a replacement of that part will be cheap and get your unit working again and over the hump. Get it serviced this fall to see if there's a coolant recharge that's needed.
