Yessssss.
Figured I'd post my AP portfolio up here, in case anyone is interested :V
Breadth section:
Anteaterrrr
This is the first painting I've ever done that I've actually been happy with. I used this weird technique where I used acrylics, but applied them very thinly, thereby making it look more like watercolor. I like it, even if one of the eyes is a bit wonky.
Quickie charcoal I did in a day
India ink skull thing
And now for the concentration!
My commentary from the exam:
My concept for my concentration was technology’s relationship with humanity and nature, and how it both isolates and connects individuals. I used the patterns found on circuit boards to contrast with the relatively simple lines for everything else. I kept my lines tight to further reflect the subject matter. The busy patterns reflect the overwhelming nature of the information age. While isolation and dependency can result from new technology, greater understanding and connection can also occur.
I am SO much happier with my concentration this year as opposed to last year's. Last year I basically did 12 different versions of the same piece, and this year I feel like I had an interesting idea and really got to develop it, even if it didn't always turn out like I wanted. Feeling like I am improving, even if it's not at the pace I would desire, is really key for me, so this was an encouraging year! :)
Aaand that's about it! Lots of work, but worth it. :) I can't wait til I go to college and get to do this stuff all the time hrngghhh
