Honestly, I think her food issues have skewed her perspective so far that she just doesn't get what's normal anymore. And if that's how she's happy eating, fine, it doesn't seem to stop her from being one of the most energetic people I know. I just don't want to be guilt-tripped for normal eating patterns (or, heck, even abnormal ones).

She must feel pretty fucking horrible about herself to do that to you.

I think it's more a matter of her perspective having gotten so skewed over time.

The weird thing is she's also an excellent cook who makes massive amounts of food at one time and encourages people to have seconds and thirds. One time when I was still living in the US she came to visit for 10 days and made me so much food that I barely had to cook for the next 6 months, just lived off my freezer and pasta once or twice a week.

You should let her know that any dietician with any experience would tell her that she's following a very unhealthy diet.

What you should do is have at least three meals a day, plus a snack. Also you need to make sure you get all the essential nutrients or your body will start saving up what little you give it until it will start destroying its own system.

Also, it's far far healthier to start the day with the largest meal of the day. Like my coach at Weight Watchers also says it, at morning you should eat like a king, around noon like a prince and in the evening, like a beggar.

Skipping out on breakfast is the first step towards being overweight.

Also, it's none of her business what you do or do not eat (almost forgot to mention that part*g*)

Older people have slower metabolisms anyway - every time I visit 's parents I always feel like I'm starving.

People who think reducing the number of meals is the key to weight loss are insane. Even disregarding the fact that people's obsession with weight loss is nearly as bad.
