If you have a photobucket account (which, if you don't, is really easy to set up), you just upload a picture and then underneath a thumbnail of it, it'll have the html to cut and paste into an entry.

An lj-cut is a little bit harder for me to explain. The livejournal people explain it best: http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=75

What a ridiculous concept. Let me tell you something, Anonymous. Nobody with more than a sliver of self respect would ever apply for a rating community, even one that claims to be non-superficial. By the way, what do music tastes and a picture of yourself have to do with intelligence? Case closed.
