Getting so fed up with work

Nov 02, 2012 06:25

All the joy has gone out of making costumes. I'm inundated with people who have no concept of what a commission entails, entitled fuckwipes, the pickiest people who ruin otherwise fantastic looking stuff with "WHAT ITS SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE". It's not even art anymore, it's just stupid shit I hate making for people. I'm hoping when I get to making ( Read more... )

Sorry you're dealing with that. I've gotten extremely fed up and tired of people destroying my work, not knowing how to communicate with me, or other chaos that's happened. I feel worried every time something new is sent away, and potentially what will become of it.

I'm finishing what I owe, and just taking on repair work and resoling on a case by case basis.

That's pretty much how I feel. People telling me "Oh this isnt made well, I played football in it and one of the ears broke". No, retard, it's made fine. Your ear broke because you played football, in a motherfucking animal costume.

It's so frustrating to spend hours and hours making something and then turn around and have someone destroy it.

I feel for ya, I can't imagine doing business within the furry fandom, aside from selling ready-made stuff.

You know, the first three years wasn't bad, it was actually really lots of fun. Occasionally you'd get a dipshit but nobody really so entitled it hurt, recently the customer base has been shifting, probably to reflect the changes in the furry community's population makeup(At least for those who go to conventions, because the Euro scene hasn't changed much and the euro customers are pretty much the same). IDK if it's just me getting older or gettin listless or something, sometimes i just need a change of scenery. IDK it is just a vent journal don't mind me XD

It takes a special kind of customer service to cater to the Rich and Famous (or those who at least feel they are in their own mind ( ... )

I don't know, man. I think it's weak people who have this need to feel entitled or are so desperate to prove themselves better than other people in SOME way that when something happens that MIGHT just be a glimmer that they're good at something SUDDENLY they lord it over everyone.

Personally, if I stumbled across $8M, I'd invest the fuck out of it in a high yield CD every 8 years, and spend my returns for charities for the sick and wildlife conservation. Like.. that's a fuckwad of money that could do the public interest some serious good. It's a shame it almost always ends up in the hands of people with no self control.

Have you shopped interest rates for CDs over 5 years...? Like even 1% return is asking a LOT. I can remember back when I was fresh out of High School, I could score a 5-year CD at 5% without sneezing. Now, that's like beyond money market; you'd have to invest in one of those "way risky, might lose everything" kind of deals... and guess what, a lot of people have lost everything in those... and continue to do so. And who's getting MORE entitled every day from this? That 1% you still keep hearing about. Those entitled S.O.B.'s whose Wall Street BS keeps burying us in so much shenanigans, we don't know just how much of the trading on the floor is good money and how much is bad and fake money trying to not get found out for the fraud it really is. Derivatives aren't dead, not by a long shot ( ... )
