When stories disappear - back again

I've posted about this before, but thanks to debris_k calling it out, the topic has been brought to the forefront of my mind again.

Someone wants to set up a community specifically for the sharing of deleted stories. Okay, it says "There would be rules. Rules against post[ing] a fic where you KNOW[*see footnote] the author doesn't want it posted" -- but ( Read more... )

You're right, pointing out her changes was a bit inconsistent of me.

I do really like it when people show when they've made edits to a post (one reason I like wikis a lot, you can see the change history), and I reacted poorly to my reading of vickyblueeyez's intentions of not reading the comments to her post and solely focusing on her poll results. When she made edits to her post (possibly in response to some of the comments at it) without otherwise acknowledging the comments, that made me a little concerned about revisionism, enough that I (perhaps pettily and at least for myself) wanted to track what some of those changes were. On the plus side, it shows that vickyblueeyez has been taking some of the discussion at her post into account instead of purely relying on her poll numbers, which is great to see.

I'm still figuring out and learning what common standards and etiquette in fandom are (and assume that will be ongoing -- I'm certainly learning about how differently certain things are done in some of the many parts of fandom I'm not familiar with!) and ( ... )
