Movement and the Aeons

So I'm now in Toronto, living with morganxpage. Our dwelling-place is called The Nadir.

I've been thinking about the Aeons recently, and I have an idea of why so many Thelemites are such jerks. Whether or not the Aeons of Isis, Osiris and Horus represent historical epochs (which is certainly up for debate) they can also be seen as periods of personal ( Read more... )

I agree with wylde_mans statement of: "the only thing that is gonna bring about the Aeon is us- breaking down the shackles of the old, challenging, pressing into the thick of life with the banner of freedom held high."

The problems is that people often focus too much on the words written in the past that we deny ourselves the need to transform those words into actions suited for our present time, which shall bring us into our future. We would be nothing without what was discovered and brought into light from the prophets, sages and teachers of our past, now we need to take these things and challenge them- and change them accordingly- to fit the now and move forward.

the aeons arent clockwork. nothing is ever clockwork, there is always overlap--even for thelemically oriented individuals.

osirian influence is pervasive in our culture. the majority of our norms and institutions, how we interact with each other and the world are still absed on osirian principles.

that being said, the influence is not going to be eradicated all together, the new aeon will blend into the old. to tell you the truth, i dont think that its osirian principles that cause people to be a jerk, but rather the tension between the two aeons because we are in a transitional phase.

Nifty! Still interested in the tv/dvd player/wheeled stand combo for $50? I can't take trade on that as it's Drew's, but if you've free time perhaps we could talk about more cataloguing in the new year after the library shuffle (new shelves! exciting!)

We are indeed interested. The chief difficulty will be transporting it to our place; but I'm sure something can be arranged.

Whereabouts are you located? Also, are you on for dinner on Saturday?

Yes... we were looking at holding our housewarming party that day (having forgot about this dinner) but we could hold it another day instead.
