Microsoft announces a new Windows? Already? Windows 7 beta coming soon. And I'm still running XP Home Edition.

I wish I could go to CES.

Windows 7 has been announced for a while. I suspect that MS has realized how much of a dud Vista is.

yeah, but i don't keep that close of a pulse on that sort of thing, so the CES announcement was the first I'd heard of it.

Bring on the Windows ME jokes?

Public beta available this afternoon. I'm gonna be trying this out early. It's basically Vista 2.0 (now with compatibility!)
