Hm. I wonder if I should still think of this as a strike?
Highlights from the Doctors appointment yesterday
- I like the new pediatrician. She's young, energetic, she listens to me. At the end she asked about Dr. Burk and I said "We just don't click. I have been dealing with mediocrity for months for fear of something worse. It was finally time to

Of course, Sheridon is STILL nursing. She does it at only nap time, though she'd definitely nurse more if I offered it. She sleeps much better at night because of no longer nursing at that time. She'd gotten to a point where she'd drive me NUTS by waking up and needing to nurse back to sleep. It wasn't so bad except for in the morning when she'd wake up an hour early just to nurse on and off. At the worst point, she started waking up at about 6am and nursing on/off until 8/9!! That was when I'd had enough (not to mention that this started when she was already 2!)

I do want to say that I am so proud of you. I can't IMAGINE the hard work you have had to put into this. Nursing is so easy compared to what you've had to do!!!!

I don't have answers to your questions about milk and pumping, and nursing strikes. But I do want to say that I really like the way you write. I especially liked the idea of talking to your ancestors from 500 years ago. Wow. That kind of got me choked up. It was so very well put.

I don't have a lot of advice to offer about what Morella is going through because I never made it that far with pumping. I know at 12 months we switched her off her formula to whole milk. At first we did half/half to get her used to it and then after another week or so it was all whole milk. HTH!

I still have hope that Morella will figure it out and be done with the strike. I am really sad for you about the no more bottles thing. I know that even though I complain about nursing I will be really sad to be done, too (words I never thought I'd type/say).
