Teething Heck Day II

How much longer would a reasonable person pump milk that their baby is not drinking? It's been two weeks now -- but she is also in the throes of teething hell. Tim thinks I should just keep going going until her first birthday and then quit. Ellie loved it when she first got it. It's like salty apple juice. Buy the singles, they're a little more expensive, but if you read the directions, you're supposed to throw it out after 24 hours! Why waste what she isn't drinking, right??? They make popsicles of it too...which might be really good on her sore little gums.

hrmmm... What has worked. We haven't had success with much besides motrin. However, I have two friends who SWEAR by Amber Necklaces. One said her daughter was cutting molars when the necklace broke. That night was the WORST ever, then the next day they got a new necklace and she was fine. The teeth didn't come through for another week or so.

As far as eating goes, I have another friend with a super-picky toddler. He does like smoothies though -- fruit, breastmilk, yogurt, etc. If she will take a thick cold smoothy, you can add fatty stuff to it -- olive oil, flaxseed oil, etc.

I'm sorry this has been so hard! I hope she is feeling better soon! If it continues to be really bad, you may want to go back to the pediatrician to make sure there isn't something else going on -- we were sure Gabe was teething recently, but then when he stopped eating we went (back) to the pediatrician. Sure enough both boys had throat infections. Nothing we could do about it, but at least we knew what the problem was... Thinking of you and
