for question #4 you completely forgot the option of.... I have good intentions of sending christmas cards, but it's like the lottery for which ones (if any) actually get sent.
I like pics in general--I'm ambivalent about who's in them. And, I usually have awesome intentions of sending out cards, but I generally suck at getting them out in time. Neil got into a car accident with my car last year trying to get them out in time last year.
I used to send like 25 christmas cards every year and I would get like.. 3 or 4 in return? Clevery usually right after I had sent out mine .. heh.
So I kind of stopped sending them out. Especially in grad school. I mean, what kind of letter could I possibly send people like 'yep, still in school, still studying the same old thing, I'm kind of boring'
I think things changes once you have a "family" And I definitely like reading other people's letters.

I actively dislike store-bought greeting cards (which wasn't helped by working in a card store for a while). On the other hand, I love getting a personal thing like a picture with a note or newsletter explaining how a friend's family is doing. I care how my friends and their families are doing, so it's nice to get that little synopsis of how the last year has gone
